Performance of Open and In-Filled (Geofoam) Trenches in Mitigating Ground-Borne Vibrations Induced by Impact Loading

Abstract The open or in-filled trenches are often used in engineering practice to mitigate ground vibration induced by different types of sources. A novel approach which is considering the effect Rayleigh wavelength on efficiency and coupled with regular specific normalized dimensions was implemented this study.
